Freight & Salvage tickets & upcoming events

Freight & Salvage is one of those special spots in Berkeley that instantly feels like home the moment you step inside. Its iconic wooden stage has seen everything from Joan Baez strumming her guitar to Guthrie performing his timeless tunes, and honestly, it’s part of what makes the vibe so authentic. The place isn’t just about pretty acoustics; it’s a community hub, hosting the annual Berkeley Folk Festival, offering workshops on instrument mastery, songwriting, and storytelling that make you want to pick up an instrument immediately. The seating is thoughtful too, mobility-friendly options mean no one’s left out, and family sections nestled in quieter corners are perfect for bringing the kids along without missing the magic. If you’re coming from the west, follow the scenic hills down into the city, and once you hit Shattuck Avenue, you’ll spot the place easily, no stress. It’s a venue that’s been around for ages but still feels fresh and alive, full of surprises and good vibes. Trust me, whether you’re there for a legendary folk artist or discovering something new, Freight & Salvage never disappoints.
